New: Regardless of some of the rules below, if you are a member of AFD and you would like to affiliate with us, by all means, do so. However, please understand that affiliating is not about trading banners, it's not about being able to display hundreds of flickering 88x31 images in a little box in your footer. I just will not accept that sort of affiliate, even if you are member.


- Have similar rules and values, for this is what makes an affiliate an affiliate. Affiliation doesn't mean that you go around and post someone's banner so they'll post yours in return. It's not about popularity. It's about being friends, and sharing support from one site to another. An affiliate is someone you can trust, someone you may ask questions to, someone you may be able to get help from in the future. It isn't about trading banners and saying, "Hey, I have no idea who you are, but I'll put your banner in our footer because you did the same for us. :)"

- Have active, friendly, mature members, that know how to be fun.

- Have an appealing skin, with readable text and links, soothing colors, and an overall decent appearance. I know that having HTML skills doesn't mean you're a good roleplayer, but it is nice to come to a site that is easy on the eyes, instead of blindingly bright and horrific.

- Be involved in intelligent roleplay. Need I really say more?

Last but not least:

- Have our banner up first! In a clearly visible spot. (I will not affiliate with a site that has their affiliates listed in a marquee AKA: An automatic scrolly thing. If you are a member of AFD and you would like to affiliate, this rule can be surpassed.) We list your banner in an easily accessible location, you should do the same.

I will accept any genre as an affiliate, however, I do have the right to decline your site for affiliation for any reason I see fit.

I will judge an application based on the character of their members, the appeal of the site's skin and colors, and the quality of roleplay. If you dislike my method of judging, feel free not to comment.


If you wish to affiliate, please copy this and post it as a reply to this thread. Any request that isn't a reply to this topic will be considered an advertisement, and banners will not be posted in the footer. I will also assume that you haven't read this thread, therefore, will not accept you.

Hello, Ebony? This is Use, from Mirror Cats. I've been keeping tabs on your forum, and it looks like only one person logs on a week, barely anyone the whole month. I know this wasn't meant to be, you strive so hard and your forum is always so perfect and orderly, but could you give me an update on where you're taking AFD? Are you planning on closing it, is it not your first priority? We'll have to take down your banner soon, if that's the case.
